For the past year, THST has been in close contact with the Club through a challenging period as details of the new stadium build were discussed and as necessarily complex and sensitive negotiations progressed.
Throughout the year we have consistently avoided engaging in public speculation over the many rumours that have circulated. But we have, at every stage, spoken to the Club and argued the fan view. We have also responded to the Club’s requests for constructive input.
The Club has now confirmed that it will not be selling Season Tickets in the North East corner of the ground, and that ST holders in that area will be relocated. Everyone connected with the Club genuinely wanted to avoid making any changes to our historic and much-loved ground in our final season. But completing the new stadium has to be a priority and we believe the best possible solution will be found, and we will continue to discuss details around this with the Club.
As the Club has said, this development may mean we have to play Champions League fixtures away from White Hart Lane. This is due to a combination of UEFA competition rules, increased media requirements and the large number of Season Ticket holders at White Hart Lane. Again, we know fans would love to have seen our famous old stadium off with UCL fixtures at our traditional home. But as this doesn’t look possible, we’re glad the Club has said it will continue with the accessible pricing policy for cup games at an alternative venue. We think a solution that will enable a greater number of Spurs fans to see our club in action for an accessible price is the most desirable.
We know that demand for tickets in our final year at White Hart Lane will be very high. And we are continuing to discuss details of ticketing policy for next season with the Club, both at home and away.
As soon as we have more facts, we will share them.
