With 42,000 General Admission Season Ticket holders and 8,000 Premium Season Ticket holders at Spurs, a significant number were going to miss out on the match of a lifetime and there was, understandably, a desire for clarification as to how many of the 16,613 tickets had gone to regular fans.
The Club has now confirmed the following figures:
General admission supporter allocation including accessible – 80 per cent (13,290)
Contractual supporter allocation; to include seasonal hospitality members – 12.5 per cent (2,077)
First-team players/coaches/former players/staff allocations – 6.5 per cent (1,080)
Commercial partners, contractual allocations – 1 per cent (166)
While we consider the total number of tickets made available to fans of each Club by UEFA to be inadequate, 80% of Spurs’ allocation going directly to regular GA fans is commendable. We thank Spurs for their transparency here.
Adult/ Junior combination tickets
One other topic of ticketing conversation has been the distribution of the 100 pairs of Adult and Junior tickets made available by UEFA. The Club has explained that they made every effort to ensure all seats were utilised by junior season ticket holders. Dozens of outbound calls were made and a number of supporters made very happy in being able to access tickets for such a huge game. Unfortunately a number of people that were contacted had to reluctantly decline the offer of tickets due to being unable to source travel at relatively short notice.
The vast majority of this particular allocation was distributed before the match, however, a small number of bookings were cancelled at a late stage that had been made by people not attending with a junior.
The Club did initially ask UEFA whether the tickets could be reissued as regular adult tickets, as this well-meaning initiative actually proved challenging for clubs such as Spurs, where stringent rules are in place around the fair distribution of tickets.
Finally, there’s a commitment from Spurs to work with UEFA to ensure that our next participation in a UEFA Final will see the Club have a more detailed and robust plan in place to deal with this sort of allocation offering at an earlier stage.
