Bag policy at Wembley

23/11/2018

Picture

Many supporters have contacted us about the restricted bag policy now being implemented at Wembley Stadium, expressing concerns that it could, in many cases, prevent them from attending games. We have been talking to THFC and Wembley National Stadium Limited (WNSL) in order to voice supporter concerns and explore practical solutions.

Remembering Jonathan Waite

19/11/2018

Picture

When Trust Joint-Chair, Darren Alexander, passed away suddenly in March 2014, it was Jonathan Waite who wrote the Club’s obituary. It was Jonathan Waite who hung the ‘Can’t Smile Without You’ flag at the Benfica match in his memory. And it was Jonathan Waite who let the Trust into White Hart Lane early to lay flowers at his seat. Jonathan’s kindness, empathy and support at that difficult time was a measure of his character. It’s incomprehensible that, four and a half years on, we’re now writing this for Jonathan.

Advice for Spurs fans attending upcoming games at West Ham

18/10/2018

Picture
THST reps took part in a meeting earlier this week with the Clubs, police, London Stadium reps and fan reps ahead of our Premier League tie at West Ham in order to provide advice to our fans travelling to Saturday’s game.
The match will be a Category C game. The police have said they will be taking a “proportionate” approach during the day, and will be present inside and outside the stadium. A team of 20 x THFC stewards will also be present, working into colleagues at WHUFC, to help travelling fans with wayfinding and customer service.

THST comment on transfer window

9/8/2018

Picture
THFC’s inability to make any improvements during the summer transfer window to a squad that is so close to achieving great things has dismayed many fans.

As a Supporters’ Trust, it is not our job to involve ourselves in on-field matters. But we have a responsibility to voice the concerns of our fans about the Club’s ambition and strategy on the pitch. And to ask for a full and believable explanation of how this transfer window has played out.

Report of THST meeting with the Spurs Board - 20 February 2018

26/2/2018

Picture
This is a report of the meeting held between the Boards of THFC and THST on Tuesday 20 February. In line with normal practice, both sides have agreed this is an accurate representation of discussions.

This is a long read, with an accompanying document setting out in detail the proposals THST made on concessionary pricing. Please take the time to read both documents carefully before raising any questions. We will be holding a members meeting on 12 March, please keep an eye on your inboxes and our website for details, at which issues arising from this report can be discussed. In the meantime, we’ll do our best to answer any questions you have within the constraints of our available time as volunteers.

Mace update on Spurs stadium

12/5/2017

Picture
Mace has issued the following community update regarding the Northumberland Development Project - namely the new stadium. This contains information around the decommissioning of White Hart Lane and the next phase of works. We thought this would be of interest to fans, so we're sharing here.
Mace has asked that any queries are directed to the 24 hour helpline referenced in the newsletter. Local residents should note there is a drop in event scheduled for Thursday 25 May, also.

Season Ticket pricing at Wembley - THST comment

2/5/2017

Season Ticket prices for Tottenham Hotspur’s year at Wembley Stadium have been announced today by the Club. THST has been discussing pricing for our year at Wembley with THFC for some time. So now we want to set out clearly what we lobbied for, and make our position clear on what has been announced.

We are pleased that fans will once again not be facing real increases in the price of their Season Tickets, and that top-line prices are lower than this year. Our minimum objective was ticket price parity and that has been achieved and, in most cases, exceeded. However, we have mixed feelings about the overall packages on offer and would have expected the pricing to have been more in line with the proposals we submitted last month.

In brief, the headline developments are:

• No Season Ticket seat at Wembley will cost more than the equivalent price at White Hart Lane, accounting for the loss of two cup games. The majority will cost less
 • Every Season Ticket holder will have the choice to move into a seat at the price point they prefer, starting at £695
 • Up to 18,000 new Season Tickets will be opened up to the waiting list giving Bronze members the opportunity to start their Season Ticket life this summer
 • Concessions for Juniors and Seniors will apply throughout the stadium

However, once the loss of two cup games, extra travel costs for many fans, and the more expensive facilities at Wembley are factored in, any reduction in the cost of attending a match for the majority of General Admission fans is negligible. We would have liked the Club to have gone further.

However, our dialogue with the Club has resulted in some significant concessions being secured from the original proposals we were presented with, demonstrating the value of those discussions.

Let’s look at the key points in more detail.

THST analysis of Tottenham Hotspur Ltd financial statements 2015-16

25/4/2017

Picture
Since Tottenham Hotspur Ltd (THL) published its financial statements for 2015-16, finance professionals on the THST Board have been analysing them. That analysis has led us to pose a number of questions we believe are of legitimate interest to the Club’s supporters. It also provides us with an opportunity to begin to improve the conversation between the Club and its fans about finances and, in doing so, to move further towards establishing a standard for the game. A brief summary can be read below, and the full report is available as a PDF attached to this post.

Help Leyton Orient fans save their club

10/4/2017

At this Saturday's home game against Bournemouth, supporters of Leyton Orient FC will be collecting for their Regeneration Fund.

Fans will be aware of the dire situation The Os are in, and the Regeneration Fund is being built up to enable fans to relaunch the club if it goes into liquidation, administration or there is a negotiated sale involving the Supporters' Trust. It should be stressed that none of the money raised will be used to pay the current owners' debts. Full details about the fund are here.

We know there are strong links between supporters of Tottenham Hotspur and Leyton Orient, so when the Leyton Orient Fans' Trust got in touch with us and with THFC, we were only too pleased to help them, and we are very grateful to THFC for giving LOFT collectors permission to do a bucket collection at the Bournemouth game.

We'll be asking our colleagues at Bournemouth's Cherries Trust to support the initiative too. Please do give what you can to the LOFT collectors.

In November, representatives of the Chelsea Supporters' Trust, Spirit of Shankly, THST and the Football Supporters' Federation met with senior Executives from Sky Sports to discuss the impact of the rescheduling of Premier League matches for broadcast on match going fans, particularly away supporters. A further meeting was held on 22 February, with comment to follow.
