Earlier today, THST made a formal complaint to Tottenham Hotspur Football Club over the late rearrangement of the home fixture against Burnley, now scheduled for Sunday 18 December. We’re pleased to learn that the Club has now agreed to compensate Season Ticket holders who had paid for non-refundable travel and/or accommodation for the original match date of Saturday 17 December before the fixture change was announced.
We welcome this decision and the recognition that supporters must be considered when fixtures are being rearranged. Season Ticket holders wanting to claim compensation should send proof of their travel purchase and any accommodation reservations to customer.care@TottenhamHotspur.com.
As the members’ ballot has yet to run for this match, the Club has decided against compensating members who made travel plans without match tickets. We have always said that the realities of the travel market mean that fans will look to book transport at the earliest opportunity, often before match tickets are allocated, and that's why we have consistently argued for firm decisions on fixture times to be made at an early stage.
The lesson here is for the Club to communicate early and clearly in future if there is a chance of a fixture moving.
