Restrictions were imposed on the dimensions of the surfer by Haringey Safety Advisory Group which included:
1. The flag couldn't block a gangway in start position. This meant the flag had to fit the width of Block 36 or 35 (6m)
2. The height of the flag had to fit either side of the entrances that pierce the South Stand Lower It was hoped an 18 feet square flag would create the required visual impact in a relatively small stand, whilst working within the strict guidelines laid down by
the SAG.
Reviewing the first attempt ahead of the Cardiff match and taking into account supporter feedback, it's been agreed by both THST and THFC that the impact wasn't as hoped and, hence, the current flag will be put to another use to show our support on match days.
Following discussions with the Club today, there is still the appetite to have a surfing flag at White Hart Lane.
Based on this initial use of a surfing flag, we shall now hold further discussions with the safety authorities and see whether an increased size can be permitted.
Thank you to everyone who has supported this project so far and we hope to have more news shortly.
