Back in July, THST ran an extensive Fan Survey which included a question on Supporter Liaison Officers. With only 6% of respondents aware of the SLO role, we wanted to give Trust members the opportunity to learn more about your first line of contact with your Club.
An SLO is a club employee responsible for building bridges between a football club and its fans. SLO’s communicate fans’ opinions to a club’s board or senior staff members and also liaise with stewards, police and counterparts at opposition clubs.
UEFA describes the SLO as an “advocate of both sides, representing the interests of the club (or national association/league) AND those of the supporters”.
By the start of the 2012/13 season, every club in UEFA competition was required to have an SLO in place, including Tottenham Hotspur.
Learn what SLO’s can do for you
In conjunction with THFC, we have arranged for Jonathan Waite, THFC’s Supporter Liaison Officer, to speak at our next Trust Members Event to explain the role in more detail and how it can benefit you as a fan. This will be an informal Q&A session, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions. There will be a regular Trust Members' meeting afterwards, with all areas of THST work up for discussion!
This event is open to FULL and ASSOCIATE THST members, although booking priority will be given to full members.
Numbers are limited so book early!
We look forward to welcoming you on the night.
