The THST survey closed on 21/01/14 with more than 2,200 responses. Results have been analysed and the presentation has been prepared. We’re currently awaiting a date from THFC for us to meet with the Stadium Manager, Safety Officer and THFC Board before releasing the findings to THST members and the wider Spurs community.
2. The ‘Y’ Word
The plea hearing for the 3 fans facing prosecution for using the Y Word at White Hart Lane was adjourned from 13/02/14 to 10/03/14 following a request by the prosecution for postponement. Work relating to the defence case is on-going. We’re currently exploring the mechanics of establishing a potential Fighting Fund, independent of the Trust, for the court costs of the defendants. This is in the early stages of research.
3. Ticket pricing
THST expressed its wish for a freeze on Season Ticket pricing for 2014/2015 in a letter to THFC’s Finance Director and Head of Ticketing and Membership.
This can be read here: /thst-updates/thst-letter-to-thfc-re-season-ticket-pricing-2014-2015.aspx
4. Stop StubHub
The joint campaign has gathered pace over the past three weeks, with increased media interest via the Evening Standard, City AM, The Haringey Independent and other publications.
THST has also been invited to speak at the All Party Parliamentary Group session on Ticket Abuse at the House of Commons on 26/02/14.
We’re lobbying the Premier League to back calls for a division-wide ethical ticket exchange, as well as working with other fan groups and the Football Supporters’ Federation to ampllfy the opposition to secondary ticketing platforms.
THST has also been approached by Twickets, with an offer to tailor an ethical exchange.
5. Arsenal FA Cup ticket allocation
THST is working closely with Spirit of Shankly (SOS) to explore the reasoning behind the decision to allocate 5,186 out of a possible 9,000 away tickets to Tottenham and Liverpool supporters for the 3rd and 5th Round FA Cup ties at the Emirates.
THST has received Freedom of Information (FOI) responses from Islington Council relating to the THFC decision, which can be read here.
We’ve also filed an FOI application around the decision to offer 9,000 tickets to Coventry City for the 4th Round tie. We are awaiting a response. SOS has filed an FOI application around the LFC decision.
SOS and THST have placed a formal complaint with the FA Challenge Cup Committee, which has agreed to investigate further.
6. Loyalty points
THST is scheduled to meet with THFC on 27/02/14 to revisit the key points from our meeting in July. This focuses on the allocation of
tickets for Category A home games and a fairer Loyalty Point system for away games, including match location and kick off time/day.
7. AGM
Convening Notices were issued on 17/01/14, and nominations for Board election closed on 31/01/14. Proxy Voting forms were issued to paid members on 10/02/14 ahead of the AGM on 26/02/14.
Six places were available on the THST Board and five nominations were received. Therefore, all five candidates will be appointed to serve alongside Darren Alexander, Ellie Kershaw and Katrina Law, should the THST membership ratify their election.
Darren, Ellie and Katrina will be standing for re-election at the February 2015 AGM.
8. Surfing flag
The ‘Can’t Smile Without You’ surfing flag was delivered to THFC on 07/02/14 and will make its debut at the Cardiff match on 02/03/14.
THST is awaiting a date from the Stadium Manager to access White Hart Lane on an evening for a dry run and will be asking for Park Lane Lower Season Ticket Holders / regular match goers to volunteer to help with match day organisation shortly.
9. Antwerp Arms
THST has worked with a Tottenham pub threatened with closure, The Antwerp Arms, over the past few months to achieve Asset of Community Value status - and continues to try to help it to become a community-run pub.
THST assisted the Antwerp Arms with a survey to assess footfall/ customer behaviour, which has now closed.
10. World Book Day
THST has secured a Primary School to work with for this event, which will encourage fans to take books to WHL for the Cardiff match to promote child literacy in Haringey.
THFC is hopefully on board and providing a player ambassador as well as the ‘drop point’ for books on match day, hopefully on Tottenham Square.
11. Roll of Honour event
We’re awaiting Uefa Europa League (UEL) progression / dates before agreeing a date for this event. April is preferable, however there are UEL matches almost every week in April. More information will follow.
12. No To Hull Tigers
THST extended their backing to the No To Hull Tigers campaign ahead of the league match at the KC Stadium on 01/02/14, in addition to writing to the FA to express our belief that fan consultation is paramount in such circumstances.
