The Club has announced the establishment of the THFC Fan Advisory Board, something we have long called for as an important addition to fan engagement. It creates a binding obligation on the Club to consult supporters' representatives in a number of key areas. Following 18 months of negotiations on the details, we are now consulting members on the two places on the Board set aside for the Trust.
Trust members are invited to an online meeting where we will discuss the FAB arrangements in more detail, answer questions and give members the opportunity to give their views. Members who cannot attend that meeting can send their comments or views to us by email (fab@thstofficial.com) prior to the meeting and we will take those into account.
Join with this link www.eventbrite.co.uk on Tuesday 9 May from 6-7pm.
More detail on our response, including the Board’s recommendation to take up the two places, can be found here.
Full details of the FAB and how it will operate are here.
Ticketing
We were pleased that the Club responded positively to our representations that prices should be frozen, and that the renewal window should be extended beyond the end of the season. We argued hard for this because we know fans are impacted by the cost of living crisis and we believe asking fans to pay even more to watch the team next season would be unreasonable. Our season tickets remain amongst the highest in the Premier League and in Europe.
We meet regularly with the Club’s ticketing department and have done so recently. We continue to press the Club to ensure ticket prices do not escalate and that consideration is given to how we reward loyal fans as well as encourage a new generation of season ticket holders. We have raised issues around membership packages and away tickets and will give a fuller report in next month’s newsletter.
End of Season/Pre-Season BBQ
A bit later than usual because of the many events happening at the Stadium, we’re delighted to announce that we have a date for our annual BBQ at The Antwerp Arms - Sunday July 23rd. Please put this in your diary and look out for more details in our next newsletter.
Quiz Night 2023
Fifteen teams battled it out at the The Antwerp Arms to discover who would be crowned THST Quiz Champions 2023 in a highly enjoyable and competitive evening. Over £1000 was raised for a fantastic local charity, Studio306 Collective , who we supported again this year.
After a brain teasing series of rounds, the eventual winners were the THFC staff team, captained by Ledley King. This victory follows on from their success in 2022 and once again their impressive, encyclopaedic knowledge of all things Spurs proved too much for the other teams.
We would like to thank our fabulous quizmaster Theo Delaney, as well as question setters Koonal Shah, Anthony Morkos, Rob White and Rachel Martin. We‘d also like to thank Ben Abrahams and all the lovely staff at The Antwerp Arms in Church Road, Tottenham who were great hosts. And, finally, a big thanks to Levi Harris, Head of Supporter Engagement at Spurs, for bringing the THFC team and donating a raffle prize.
Get involved
This month on the Forum we’ve been discussing the Newcastle fiasco, the finances of the Club and the direction it’s going in.
The THST Forum is open to full and life members of the Trust. Members should apply via our website and set up an account. We should emphasise Trust membership alone doesn’t give you automatic access to the forum, you need to register via the link. Don’t forget – full members can start threads of their own so have a think about which off-field issues you would like to discuss.
To join the Trust, please register here. Whilst everyone who works with the Trust is a volunteer, we do have some costs and would encourage people to upgrade from free Associate Membership to Full membership if you can - please click here.
